Padua Conference Centre Portal
The large expanded metal portal of the Conference Centre in Padua is 20 metres high and 60 metres long; it is located at the top of the entrance staircase and is intended to identify the main entrance front to the Centre. This project was built on the area of the former Palazzo delle Nazioni, a historical building in Padua, of which the artistic sculpture at the entrance has been preserved. Designed by the popular Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the new Conference Centre can host events with up to 3,334 seats.
The portal is the gateway to access the Gallery that runs through the Convention Centre, the Gallery itself also becomes the meeting point or junction between the areas to the north and south of the gardens and all conference activities. Inside, expanded metal mesh was also used for the protective railings of the stairs and for the construction of partition walls.
