Via et Porta Praetoria

An unprecedented example that combines antiquity and modernity in a single creation in the Archaeological Site of Via et Porta Pretoria in the Canton of Aargau. Thanks to the study of the archaeological finds, the entrance door, the walls and the porticoes have been rebuilt with bronze-coloured expanded metal mesh panels and give the impression of a patina of ageing. When the light fades in the evening, the supporting elements 'disappear' in the dim light and the work seems to float off the ground.
